Zelda looked intently at Kafei, determined for her cheeks to lose their pink hue. “No, it’s usually not snowing for at least another month. This is odd indeed.” The princess turned at the sound of someone’s voice. A voice she’d heard a thousand times. Her heart jumped, as she turned to face her guardian, Impa. Wide eyed, Zelda ran to Impa, in a very un-royal fashion.

She pulled Impa into a tight hug, smiling. “I’m so glad you’re okay, Impa. I’ve missed you so.” She pulled away, then gestured to Kafei. “This is the Mayor of Termina, Mr. Kafei Dotour. We’ve been having some trouble lately, if you hadn’t noticed, with what odd weather we’ve had. I’m afraid it looks to be a mere beginning to our troubles.” The princess pursed her lips, deep in thought.

Her eyes then wandered to the young hero, seemingly of their own volition. She smiled a somewhat sad smile. “The other leaders will likely be here soon. I hope they aren’t caught in the storm. Perhaps we should send out some quads to look for them?” Zelda pondered, lifting a gloved finger to her chin.

Link was always slightly intimidated by the Sheikah woman’s presence, and today was no exception.  ”Hello, Impa,” he returned.  ”It’s been a while.”  It had only been about seven years…  Link wasn’t an expert when it came to keeping in touch with people.

Kafei seemed taken aback by the sudden appearance of the rather strict, stern looking woman. Taking a step or two away, the young mayor only bowed when the princess introduced him by name and then looked back to Link as the blonde questioned… Had he gotten naive over time, or was he simply trying to remain hopeful in light of the situation?

“Actually, I simply wrote a letter to Her Highness to talk about…Majora.”

Zelda paused, contemplating what the two men were saying. She thought the blizzard could’ve been what was blocking out the sun, but it was going on far too long.

Zelda melted into Link’s arms, unaware for the moment of the many watchful eyes upon them. Nearly everyone in the Castle Town already believed that Link would one day take the throne, so their embrace was only fodder for the whispers. Feeling Link pull away nervously, Zelda smiled. She would have to tell him soon that he could carry on with her as a friend without fear of beheading.

Link felt his face grow hot at Kafei’s words.  ”Wh-what are you implying?” he managed to ask.  He turned to face the man, who was chuckling at him and Zelda.  Link sighed; perhaps he had acted too rashly.  He made a mental note to refrain from ever expressing emotion around Zelda while Kafei was around.

“The blizzard was quite sudden,” he replied to Zelda, turning to face her again.  ”Sheik said he had no idea what caused it.  I don’t suppose you have any ideas?”

Both seemed rather shocked—Zelda almost appalled—after Kafei had teased either. But the young mayor didn’t seem affected as both questioned, asking him what he meant and instead he simply shook his head. What was he implying? What did he mean? These two were so blind even to one another it seemed. No wonder Link had never spoken much else about the lovely princess.

“Blizzard?” he suddenly perked. “You mean this isn’t normal weather for you? I thought that it was… I wasn’t even out of my country before I started to feel the chill…”

Frowning, his eyebrows pulled together as he crossed his arms and continued to watch the pair speak so closely.

After warming up with the delicious soup Impa decided it was time to see the princess.  Though she was one for order and liked to keep people informed of where she was going and when she would be there, Impa didn’t mind surprising the princess from time to time.  She strolled through the corridors until she heard some familiar voices.  ’I guess I am not the only one she will be surprised to see’ she though hearing Link along with another male voice. ‘Who could this be I wonder?’
